17^th ranked Southern Indiana swept a GLVC pair 9-1 and 2-1 vs. the Drury Softball Panthers at Thompson Field on Saturday.

Drury is now 8-12 overall and 1-5 GLVC and Southern Indiana improved to 17-3 overall and 4-2 GLVC.

In the opener Southern Indiana plated four runs on four hits and two errors in the third to go on top 4-0.  They added five runs on five hits in the top of the fourth for a 9-0 lead. 

An RBI sacrifice fly by Marissa Ross in the Panther fifth scored Rachael Michaelis for the Panthers run.

Brooke Harmening (11-1) earned the win and had three strikeouts while allowing five Panther hits.  Shelby Weissenbach (4-5) received the loss with a strikeout while allowing 11 USI hits.

In the nightcap MacKenzi Dorsam of USI homered in the opening inning for the games first run.  Drury tied the game up when Ross scored on an error by the USI catcher in the third.  USI won the game with an RBI walk in the seventh inning for the 2-1 win.

Southern Indiana finished with eight hits and Drury was held to two by Sarah Owens (4-1) who earned the win for the Screaming Eagles.  Harmening earned her third save of the year while Jessica Kjeldgaard (4-5) received the loss and had six strikeouts.

The Drury Softball Panthers will host Bellarmine in GLVC play tomorrow at Thompson Field with games set to start at 2 p.m.
