A Drury Softball team with victories in seven of its last eight games will try to finish off its home slate in similar fashion when the Panthers entertain Rogers State in a non-conference doubleheader with a 4 p.m. start Thursday at Thompson Field.

Chantiel Wilson's Panthers defeated Lincoln 3-2 and 4-1 on Tuesday at Thompson to improve to 21-25 overall, including five straight victories. They'll take on a Rogers State team from Claremore, Okla., that's 13-28 overall after losing twice at Pittsburg State on Tuesday, by 13-4 and 15-0 scores.
The Hillcats are batting .289 as a team, but allowing opposing teams to hit .329 with a staff pitching earned run average of 5.66.
Drury is hitting .246 as a team, but sophomore shortstop
Kari Hillenburg has pushed her team-leading average to .349 and has scored a team-best 33 runs while also leading the squad in stolen bases with seven. Senior third baseman
Carson Forge is batting .321 with 12 homers (a DU single-season record) and 35 RBIs, and junior outfielder
Chantal Oelrich has added eight homers and 19 driven in.
Sophomore left-hander
Jessica Kjeldgaard is 13-12 with a 2.25 ERA to pace the DU pitchers, while junior
Shelby Weissenbach is 8-10 with a 3.42 ERA as the DU pitching staff has combined for a 2.83 earned run average.
Kjeldgaard has allowed one earned run in her last 32 innings pitched. striking out 25 and walking just three over that six-game stretch.

Drury will conclude Great Lakes Valley Conference regular season play this weekend with visits to Lewis on Saturday (Romeoville, Ill.) and Wisconsin-Parkside on Sunday (Kenosha, Wis.), with noon starts for the doubleheaders each day. The Panthers are 10-16 in league play, in 11th place in the standings, and fighting to get one of the eight spots for the GLVC Championship tourney next weekend in East Peoria, Ill.
