DU Women's Soccer Pushes Home Unbeaten Streak To 19 Matches With 2-0 Shutout Of UIS

Drury broke open a scoreless duel with second-half goals from Kerri Morris and Emily Cline for a 2-0 victory over Illinois Springfield in Great Lakes Valley Conference women's soccer action Sunday afternoon at Harrison Stadium in the Curry Sports Complex.

The victory moved the Panthers to 5-1-2 overall and 4-1-1 in the GLVC. Drury is 5-0-1 at home this season, and pushed its streak to 19 consecutive matches at home without a loss, dating back to an October 11, 2013 (1-0) setback to Quincy - which will visit Harrison/Curry in DU's next home match on Friday, October 9.

It also represents career DU coaching victory No. 98 for Alf Bilbao (98-60-25).

Morris broke the tie with the game-winner when she scored from close range in front of the goal off an Emma Huggett assist at 56:39 for a 1-0 DU advantage. It was the team-leading sixth goal of the season and third this weekend for Morris, who had two tallies in DU's 3-0 win over McKendree on Friday.

Cline then put the game away with her goal at 84:31 from 15 yards out (Rachel Krueger assist). It marked goal No. 4 on the season for Cline and No. 22 on her career as a Panther.

Tina Haberberger picked up her second straight shutout of the weekend with three saves in goal for DU.

Drury outshot the Prairie Stars (3-5, 2-3) by an 11-5 count, including 6-3 in shots on goal.

The Panthers are back on the GLVC road next weekend with matches at Missouri-St. Louis on Friday and Maryville on Sunday.
