QUINCY, Ill. - The 23
rd ranked Drury men's soccer team suffered a 4-2 loss vs. Lindenwood here on Saturday.
Drury is now (0-1) and Lindenwood goes to (1-0).
Stefan Andric gave Lindenwood an early 1-0 lead when he netted a goal 2:20 into the contest. The Lions struck again at the 22:11 mark on an Andre Hayne goal coming of a rebound by the DU keeper.
Hayne scored his second goal of the contest at the 58:48 mark to make it a 3-0 Lion lead.
At the 69 minute mark Drury got on the board when
Ben Bruce scored on a low cross from the left side assisted by
Mitchell Waters. Six minutes later Lindenwood scored their fourth goal coming from Adam Pohlman.
Austin Hart scored the final goal for the Panthers at the 76 minute mark on a free kick assisted by
Julien Chevy and
Ben Bruce.
The Panthers outshot the Lions 18-15 with three shots each from
Antoine Vial and Chevy.
Drury will continue action in Quincy tomorrow when they have a non-conference contest vs. Findlay set for 5 p.m.
