SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Kerri Morris' goal with 2:03 remaining in regulation helped Drury to a 1-1 tie against 22nd ranked Bellarmine at Harrison Stadium on Sunday.
Morris, a junior from O'Fallon, Missouri, put a header past Bellarmine goalkeeper Hannah Poteet on a perfectly placed pass from freshman Kayla Day, who picked up the assist on the goal.
The Knights had 1-0 lead through most of regulation after a goal by Ericka Laws in the 28th minute put them in front. The goal was Laws' first of the season.
Drury stayed in the game on the strength of six saves by Gabrille Klingaman and nearly tied the game in 86th minute but Poteet made diving save on a Gabby Menendez shot that kept the Knights in front until Morris' game-tying goal.
The two teams battled through two scoreless overtimes. The Panthers put up four of their nine shots in the game during the first overtime period with three of those shots coming on goal.
The draw was the second straight tie for Drury. The Panthers record moved to 4-8-2 and 2-8-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Bellarmine went to 10-1-3 and 8-1-3 in the league.
Drury travels to Rockhurst for their next game on Friday, Oct. 21. Game time is 5 p.m. in Kansas City, Missouri.
