SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury ended the regular season with a 1-1 tie in double-overtime against Missouri S&T at Harrison Stadium / Curry Sports Complex on Wednesday night.
The Panthers finished the year 4-10-3 and 2-10-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Missouri S&T wound up with their first tie of the season and ended 2016 with a 4-10-1 record and a 4-9-1 mark in the league.
The game's only goals were traded midway through the first half. Missouri S&T struck first when Sarah Hostler scored her first goal of the season in the 14th minute. The Panthers answered four minutes later on a corner kick. Gabbe Millot's corner helped Kerri Morris set up Rachel Krueger's header that tied game at 1-1. The goal was Krueger's second of the season.
Drury had a 16-14 advantage in shots and outshot the Miners 4-1 in the two overtime periods but both goalkeepers made one save each in the extra periods to keep the game tied.
