SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Drury volleyball team opens play in the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament Friday morning at 11:30 a.m. against Truman State at the Eastside Centre in East Peoria, Illinois.
 
The Panthers are 20-11, 11-7 in the GLVC and finished in fourth place in the West Division. Truman State finished the regular season 15-16 and 12-6 in the league to tie for second place in the West.
 
Drury defeated Truman State earlier this year, 3-2 (16-25, 25-17, 22-25, 25-22, 15-9), on Oct. 21. The Panthers are just 4-12 against the Bulldogs all-time but Drury has won the last two meetings.
 
The winner of Friday's game will play the winner of the quarterfinal match between East Division champion Lewis (26-4, 17-1, and ranked 15^th in NCAA-II) and Quincy (16-14, 10-8) in the semifinals. That game is scheduled for Saturday at 2:30 p.m. 
 
A win for the Panthers on Friday would get them in the GLVC semifinals for the first time. Last year, Drury fell to Lewis, 3-0, in the quarterfinals. It marked the Panthers' first trip to the league tournament in four years.
 
The championship of the conference tournament is scheduled for Sunday at noon in East Peoria, Illinois.
