Drury Softball will open its Great Lakes Valley Conference home slate this weekend when the Panthers entertain Saint Joseph's on Saturday and Indianapolis on Sunday in noon doubleheaders each day at Thompson Field in Meador Park.
Coach
Chantiel Wilson's Panthers are 7-15 overall and 1-3 in the GLVC after splitting at Bellarmine last Sunday in in league play and dropping a pair on Wednesday at Rogers State in Claremore, Okla., in a non-conference matchup.
Junior infielder
Kaelie Smith is batting .423 with three homers and 19 RBIs to pace the DU offense, while junior shortstop
Kari Hillenburg is hitting .354 with team-highs of 13 runs and 13 stolen bases (in 13 tries).
Senior
Shelby Weissenbach is 5-8 with a 3.65 ERA to lead the DU pitching staff.
Saint Joseph's is 3-1 overall and in GLVC play entering Saturday's game at Thompson, while nationally second-ranked Indianapolis is 19-0 and 4-0 in the GLVC prior to Saturday's doubleheader against Missouri S&T in Rolla before visiting the Panthers on Sunday.
