Drury falls in five sets at Quincy

QUINCY, Ill. – Quincy outlasted Drury for a 3-2 win on Saturday at the Pepsi Center in Quincy, Illinois. The match not only went five sets but took more than 15 points in the fifth set to clinch the win as the Hawks prevailed 18-16.
 
Quincy raised their record to 7-16 and 4-8 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Panthers dropped to 17-8 and 6-6 in the league.
 
The Hawks won the first set 25-18, but Drury won the second 25-21. Quincy went back in front with a 25-19 win in the third set and the Panthers forced a fifth set as they took the fourth 25-22.
 
With the fifth set tied 16-16, Quincy came through with back-to-back points to finish the match.
 
Sarah Kite had 18 kills, 26 digs and served two aces to lead Drury. Kendra Sater had 46 assists.
 
Bekah Raebel led Quincy with 19 kills and six blocks. 
 
The Panthers return home to play the nation's number one ranked team in NCAA-II. Drury hosts Lewis on Friday, at 7 p.m. at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
