Drury returns home to face sixth-ranked Lewis
Drury returns to the O'Reilly Family Event Center on Friday to face sixth-ranked Lewis in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match. Game time is at 7 p.m.

The Panthers are 17-8 and 6-6 in the GLVC. Drury has lost four straight league matches but is still in second place in the West Division and 1.5 games behind Rockhurst for the division lead. The Panthers are coming off of road losses last weekend. They fell at Illinois Springfield 3-0 on Friday and Saturday lost at Quincy 3-2.

Lewis is 20-2, 9-1 in the league and in first place in the East Division. The Flyers are ranked sixth nationally after being the number one ranked team in NCAA-II for three weeks. Lewis is coming off of only their second loss of the season in a 3-2 defeat at Bellarmine on Saturday. The other loss for the Flyers this season came on Sept. 8 in the Colorado Premier Challenge when they fell to Concordia-St. Paul, currently ranked second in the nation, 3-1.

Lewis head coach Lorelee Smith needs one more win to get to career victory number 300. She is in her 11th season as head coach and enters Friday's game with a career record of 299-73.

The Flyers won last year's meeting with a 3-2 win over the Panthers at The O' on Sept. 17. Lewis was ranked eighth in the nation at the time. The Flyers have won 14 of the 15 meetings between the two teams all-time. Drury won the first ever encounter in 2005 in Romeoville, Illinois but Lewis has won 14 straight against the Panthers since then.

After Friday's match, the Panthers host Wisconsin-Parkside at 3 p.m. on Saturday at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
