BOLIVAR – Southwest Baptist swept a non-conference pair over the Drury softball Panthers 1-0 and 9-1 on Wednesday.
Drury goes to 2-6, Southwest Baptist improved to 9-2.
In the opener, despite DU pitcher
Jessica Kjeldgaard (1-4) allowing just one hit, that hit by Dana Graves in the bottom of the first would lead to the games only run and a 1-0 Bearcats win. Drury had four hits off of Kacey Ayers Evans (6-1) who received the win.
In the nightcap, Drury scored a run in the first when
Taylor Ellestad singled to score
Dominique Salinas in the first. The game remained a 1-0 Panther lead until the Bearcats fourth when SBU claimed the game by scoring nine runs on 10 hits for the 9-1 victory.
Destiny Bolen (1-2) received the loss and Hunter Middleton (2-1) got the win for SBU. SBU outhit the Panthers 14-3 in the nightcap.
Drury will be in action at the Southern Indiana Crossover on February 25 and 26 in Evansville.
