SPRINGFIELD, Mo.- Drury completed their first weekend of home games with a split of a doubleheader against Bellarmine at Thompson Field on Sunday as the lost game one 6-5 and won game two 9-4.

The Panthers moved their record to 15-16 and 3-5 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Bellarmine went to 14-18 and 2-6 in the league.

The Knights thwarted a Drury rally in game one to win 6-5. Drury used a 4-run fourth inning to take a 5-4 lead as they hit three doubles in the inning and got RBI extra-base hits from
Rachael Michaelis and
Samantha Dockweiler.

Bellarmine took the lead back in the sixth taking advantage of a Panthers error and they scored the eventual winning run on a ground ball by Marley Edwards.

Drury starter
Jessica Kjeldgaard (7-10) took the loss despite giving up only one earned run. She went 7 innings and allowed 10 hits, six runs and one earned run with no walks and two strikeouts.

Kaeli Smith went 2 for 3 with a run and a RBI in the game for Drury. Paige Dabney went 3 for 4 with a double and a RBI to lead Bellarmine.

In game two, the Panthers jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first inning and held off the Knights for a 9-4 win. Drury scored seven runs on six hits in the opening frame highlighted by a three-run double by
Dominique Salinas.

Salinas went 2 for 4 and hit her third home run of the season to finish with four RBI's in the game.
Kelley Conway went 3 for 3 for the Panthers with a RBI and a double.

Destiny Bolen (8-6) got the win for Drury. She went 7 innings allowing eight hits and four runs with four walks and three strikeouts.

The Panthers are idle until next weekend but are back on their home field for a pair of conference doubleheaders. Drury hosts Truman State on Saturday at noon and on Sunday will face Quincy at noon at Thompson Field.
