OZARK, Mo.- Drury swept a doubleheader from Truman State on Saturday with a 4-3 win in game one and a 1-0 victory in the second game at U.S. Baseball Park in Ozark.

The Panthers improved to 18-7 and 5-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Drury has won three straight games by a single run and nine of their last ten overall. Truman State stayed winless in the GLVC as they dropped to 0-6 in the league and 7-20 for the season.

In game one, the Panthers broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the seventh on a RBI double by pitcher
Ryan Colombo that scored
Caleb Essick. Drury went in front 3-0 in the second inning but Truman State tied the game with a three-run fifth.

Colombo improved to 6-0 with the win going 8 innings as he allowed six hits and three runs with two walks and five strikeouts.
Alex Austin pitched the ninth inning to earn his fourth save.

"Colombo was probably frustrated with his at-bats today but when it came down to crunch time, he came through with a big knock for us," said Drury head coach
Scott Nasby. "He got the outs we needed on the mound and he gave us momentum going into game two."

Nic Perkins went 3 for 4 with a run and a double for the Panthers while
Dylan Bradshaw also went 3 for 4 with a run.

Garrett Woods fired a six-hit shutout in game two to give Drury a 1-0 win in the second game. Woods went seven innings and allowed six hits with three walks and six strikeouts.

"His velocity held all game," said Nasby of Woods' performance. "His slider was really, really today and when he has that going he can be really effective."

Truman State had runners on second and third in the top of the seventh but Woods got a strikeout of Charlie Kreh to end the game.

The lone run of the game came in the second inning. The Panthers strung together three consecutive singles from
KK Daniel,
Ryan Kayhill and
Dylan Bradshaw with Bradshaw's hit driving in Daniel for the game's only score.

Kayhill went 3 for 3 in the game while Perkins went 2 for 3 with a double.

The four-game series between the two teams continues on Sunday with a doubleheader. Game one, a seven-inning game, starts at noon and will be followed by a nine-inning second game at U.S. Baseball Park.
