SOMERS, Wis. – Wisconsin-Parkside swept a GLVC doubleheader vs. the Drury softball Panthers, winning the opener 3-1, and taking the nightcap 3-2 in extra innings. Drury falls to 19-34 overall and 6-22 in the GLVC. Wisconsin-Parkside improved to 18-28 overall, and 12-14 in the league.
In the opener, Parkside long balls from Carly Dundee in the first, and Allison Hausl in the third, gave the Rangers a 2-0 lead. A leadoff homer by
Kaelie Smith, her second of the year, cut the lead to 2-1 in the top of the sixth.
Parkside added an RBI triple in the sixth to seal the contest and secure a 3-1 victory.

Hannah Hearst went 2 for 3 for the Panthers, who outhit the Rangers 6-4. Both teams stranded seven runners, and the Rangers committed an error.
Carly Dundee (13-14) earned the win in the circle for the Rangers, and fanned four Panthers with just one walk in a complete game outing.
Jessica Kjeldgaard (10-18) received the loss, and had four strikeouts with six walks.
In the nightcap, Drury jumped on the Rangers with two runs in the opening inning.
Dominique Salinas took advantage of a wild pitch and Hearst doubled to left to bring home Smith.
An RBI single by Parkside in the bottom half of the third cut the Panther lead in half, before the Rangers took advantage of a Drury error in the fourth to tie it up.
After three scoreless innings, the game went into extra innings, and with one out in the bottom of the ninth, an RBI single to right by Adrien Hall gave Parkside a 3-2 win.
Dundee, the winning pitcher, went 2 for 2, scored a run, and had an RBI for the Rangers seven hit effort. Dundee faced 11 batters to pick up her second victory on the day, and had two strikeouts in three innings.
Destiny Bolen (9-16) had four strikeouts in 8.1 innings and walked seven in a losing effort.
Drury had eight hits, with
Kari Hillenburg going 2 for 4 in the leadoff spot. Parkside left 13 runners on base, and DU left nine.
Drury will play their season finale tomorrow vs. Lewis, with a 1 p.m. start at the Sparta Dome in Crown Point, Indiana.
