Drury hosts Maryville in home GLVC match
Drury plays their first Great Lakes Valley Conference home match of the season on Friday as they host Maryville at 7 p.m. in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
 
The Panthers are 9-2 and 1-1 in the GLVC. Drury is coming off of a 3-0 non-conference win over Missouri Southern State on Tuesday in the Panthers home opener. At 9-2, Drury is off to their best start through 11 games since 1993.
 
Maryville enters Friday's game 1-9 and 1-1 in the conference. The Saints had lost 29 consecutive sets until the third set of their Sept. 14 match at home against Southern Indiana. Maryville won the third set, then took the match 3-2 over the Screaming Eagles.
 
Drury swept the season series against Maryville last year winning both matches. The Panthers won at Maryville 3-0 on Oct. 1 and at home 3-0 over the Saints on Nov. 11. Drury leads the all-time series 9-2 and has won four straight against Maryville. The last Saints win over the Panthers came in 2014 with a 3-0 win in St. Louis. The Saints are 0-6 all-time at Drury. 
 
The Panthers are home again on Saturday to face Missouri-St. Louis for a 3 p.m. at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
