Drury looks for fourth straight win as they host WJC
Drury ends a four-game homestand on Tuesday as they host William Jewell at 7 p.m. in the O'Reilly Family Event Center. The Panthers have won all three of their home games and enter Tuesday's contest with an 11-2 overall record and a 3-1 mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Cardinals are 4-9 and 1-3 in the league.
 
Drury won their last game with a 3-1 win over Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday. The Panthers are in a first-place tie in the GLVC-West with Rockhurst.
 
William Jewell is coming off of a 3-1 loss at home to Quincy. The Cardinals are tied for fourth place in the West Division. William Jewell has gone to five sets four times already this season. They defeated Wisconsin-Parkside 3-2 for their lone conference win and have five-set losses to Christian Brothers, Upper Iowa, and Fort Hays State.
 
The Panthers won last year's meeting against William Jewell in a 3-2 win on Oct. 7. Drury won the first two sets but the Cardinals forced a fifth set by winning the next two. The Panthers won the decisive set 15-12. Drury leads the all-time series 21-3. William Jewell last won against Drury in 2015 with a 3-1 win in Liberty. The Cardinals have never won at Drury in the rally scoring era.
 
Several Drury players enter Tuesday's game at or near the top of the conference leaderboard in several stat categories. Kendra Sater leads the GLVC in assists (11.36 per set), Sarah Kite is fifth in kills (3.51 per set), and Faith Alwardt is tied for second in blocks (1.24).
 
Drury travels to 25th ranked Rockhurst for their next game. Game time is 7 p.m. in Kansas City, Missouri.
