Knights hold off Drury's rally for 4-2 win

LOUISVILLE, Ky.– Bellarmine's three goals late in the first half lifted the Knights past Drury for a 4-2 win on Sunday at Frazier Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky.
 
Bellarmine raised their record to 9-5-1, 8-3-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and was the Knights fifth win in a row. The Panthers fell to 2-11-3 and 2-8-2 in the league.
 
Bellarmine scored in the 33rd minute on a goal from Tomas Bernedo, then picked up two more goals in the last five minutes before intermission. The Knights took a 4-0 lead on a Drury own goal that deflected in the net in the first minute of the second half.
 
Drury rallied as Alex Esquivel scored twice to get the Panthers back in the game. The freshman from Sedalia who scored 30 goals last season for Smith-Cotton High School, found the net in the 50th minute and picked up his second goal of the game and third of the season in the 72nd minute to pull Drury within two.
 
Bellarmine owned an 18-9 advantage in shots in the game. Hector Marin had three shots in the game to lead the Panthers.
 
Drury ends their season on Wednesday when they travel to Kansas City, Missouri to face Rockhurst for a 7:30 p.m. game.
