Panthers host Tritons in Weiser Gym
The 12th ranked Drury Panthers host the University of Missouri-St. Louis on Friday at 7 p.m. in Weiser Gym.
Drury is 15-3, 8-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and enters the weekend in the three-way tie for first place in the league. The Panthers are deadlocked with Illinois Springfield and Rockhurst for the conference lead. Drury is coming off of a 3-1 win over Missouri S&T on Tuesday.
The Tritons are 7-11, 3-7 in the GLVC and enter Friday's game in 10th place in the league. UMSL fell on Tuesday at home to McKendree 3-0 and have lost six straight. The Tritons are winless on the road so far this season with a record of 0-6 in an opponent's gym, and they are 4-9 overall away from home.
Friday's game is a rematch of a Sept. 15 game in St. Louis that Drury won 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-15). The Tritons lead the all-time series 19-17.
Drury's
Kendra Sater moved up to seventh on the program's all-time assist chart. Her 41 assists in Tuesday's game moved her past Julie Coble (1983-87) on the career list with 2,428.
Bree Schmidt ranks second in the conference in digs per set averaging 5.82 per set.
Bentley Mara is averaging 3.67 kills per set and ranks fourth in the GLVC. She also has 21 aces, third most in the conference. Sater's 10.40 assists per set ranks fifth in the GLVC and
Taylor Forth is fifth in the league averaging 1.08 blocks per set.
Megan Woll for UMSL is fifth in the GLVC in digs per set averaging 5.46 while Selena Nolte is seventh in the conference with 3.46 kills per set.
The Panthers are at home on Saturday and move back to the O'Reilly Family Event Center when they host Maryville at 3 p.m.
