OZARK, Mo.- Drury fell behind early and could not recover in an 8-3 loss to Rogers State on Monday at U.S. Baseball Park in Ozark.

The Hillcats put Drury in an early hole scoring two runs in the first inning and adding two more in the fourth to go up 4-0.

The Panthers got on the board in the sixth on
Clayton Engel's hit that deflected off of the foot of Rogers State's pitcher and scored
Caleb Essick from third base.

The Hillcats put the game away scoring three runs in the top of the eighth to take an 8-1 lead.

"We're not good with two outs right now – hitting or pitching," said Drury head coach
Scott Nasby. "We have eight total hits (this year) with two outs. Rogers State had 25 hits in the last three games against us in that situation. The difference right now is being able to execute with two outs."

Tim Luce (2-1) got the win for Rogers State going six innings allowing only three hits and one unearned run with one walk and five strikeouts.
Avery Jennings (0-2) took the loss for Drury.

The win gave Rogers State a sweep in the three-game series. The Hillcats improved to 7-2 and kept the Panthers winless at 0-6.

Drury is at home again on Friday when they host Winona State for an 11 a.m. first pitch at U.S. Baseball Park in Ozark.
