OZARK, Mo.- Drury starting pitcher 
Austin Simms fired a complete game and held Winona State to just one run as the Panthers picked up their first win of the year in a 6-1 victory over the Warriors on Friday at U.S. Baseball Park in Ozark.
 
Simms (1-2) went the distance allowing eight hits and only one run with three walks and six strikeouts.
 
Drury opened up a 2-1 lead with four runs in the seventh inning. The Panthers got RBI hits from 
Clayton Engel, 
Drew Newson, and 
Ryan Kayhill, as well as a bases-loaded walk from 
Riley Herron.
 
Kayhill went 2 for 3 at the plate with two RBI's, and Herron also had a two-RBI game for Drury. 
 
The Panthers improved to 1-6 and dropped Winona State to 0-4.
 
Drury plays twice on Saturday. The Panthers take on Winona State at 11 a.m., and then face Sioux Falls at 2:30 p.m. as part of a four-team, round-robin tournament at U.S. Baseball Park. The event continues through Sunday.
