SPRINGFIELD, Mo.- Drury split a Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader with Quincy on Saturday winning game one 10-2 in six innings but falling in game two 4-0 at Thompson Field in Springfield.

In game one, the Panthers extended their winning streak to five games as they ended the contest early with a 10-2 win in six innings. Drury's first batter of the game, freshman outfielder Megan Tersteeg, hit a home run over the left field fence to put the Panthers on the board. The Defiance, Missouri native went 3 for 3 in the game and added two runs scored with a pair of stolen bases.

Madison Hecker went 2 for 3 with a double, a run scored and three RBI's. Hecker ended the game early with a shot to the wall in right-center that scored Emaree Stone giving Drury a 10-2 run-rule win in six innings.

The Panthers were shutout for the first time this season in a 4-0 loss in game two. Quincy starter Sara Demuth pitched a five-hit shutout allowing three walks with five strikeouts. The Panthers stranded nine runners including four in scoring position.

The Hawks scored all four of their runs in the first two innings and took advantage of two Drury errors. Hailly Greenough pitched six innings of scoreless relief for the Panthers allowing just two hits with no walks and four strikeouts.

Drury ended the day 8-10 overall and 1-3 in the GLVC. Quincy moved their record to 11-9 and 1-1 in the conference.  Â

The Panthers are home again on Sunday hosting Illinois Springfield in a doubleheader. Game one begins at noon at Thompson Field in Springfield.
