SPRINGFIELD, Mo.- Drury was edged in game one and had errors get the best of them in game two as Illinois Springfield swept a doubleheader from the Panthers on Sunday at Thompson Field.

The Prairie Stars won game one 3-2 and took the second game 11-7 to improve to 16-9 and 3-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Drury dropped to 8-12 and 1-5 in the GLVC.

The Panthers were two outs away from a game one win despite being out-hit 12-6. Drury trailed 1-0 going into the sixth inning but took the lead on a two-RBI double by Hailly Greenough. Illinois Springfield responded in the top of the seventh with an RBI hit by Lakyn Wagoner to tie the game at 2-2 and, with two outs, Haley Inman drove in the go-ahead run with a single.

Drury threatened in the bottom of the seventh with runners at first and second and one out, but the Prairie Stars turned a double play to end the game.

The Panthers committed seven errors in an 11-7 loss in game two. Drury rallied from 6-1 behind in the third inning and managed to tie the game at 6-6 going into the fifth. UIS scored three runs in the fifth and took advantage of two Drury errors in that frame to take the lead for good.

Jacy Ummel went 4 for 5 at the plate for the Panthers with three runs, a double and an RBI while Greenough went 2 for 4 with a run, two RBI's and two doubles.

Inman went 4 for 4 for the Prairie Stars with four runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base.

Drury stranded 13 runners in the game two loss.

The Panthers are idle until Saturday when they travel to William Jewell for a doubleheader. Game one starts at noon in Liberty, Missouri.
