LIBERTY, Mo.- William Jewell swept a doubleheader from the Panthers 12-4 and 10-5 on Saturday at Cardinal Field.

The Cardinals improved to 17-9 and 4-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Drury dropped to 8-14 and 1-7 in the GLVC.

In the opener the Cardinals erupted for 10 runs on six hits and a Panther error in the opening inning. They tacked on their final runs in the fourth and fifth innings for a run-rule victory. Jewell finished with nine hits and Drury managed four hits with Jacy Ummel and Madison Hecker both going 2-for-3.
In the nightcap Jewell jumped out to a 7-0 lead after the first three frames and added three more runs in the fifth for the 10-5 win. Drury crossed a run in each of the last five innings of the contest. The Panthers, who were outhit 13-7, were led by Megan Tersteeg and who went 2-for-2 and
Courtney Kinion who went 2-for-3. Drury stranded 13 runners on base and Jewell left seven runners on the bases.

The Panthers will travel to Truman State for a GLVC doubleheader Sunday. Game one starts at noon in Kirksville, Missouri.
