SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– The Panthers return home for a doubleheader against Rockhurst at Thompson Field on Saturday. Game one starts at noon.
Drury is 9-15 and 2-8 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference while the Hawks are 13-18 and 7-3 in the league. Rockhurst is coming off of a split of a doubleheader on Friday with a game one win over Missouri S&T 8-4 and a game two loss 1-0.
Last week, the Panthers went 1-3 on a road trip that saw them get swept at William Jewell but Drury rebounded with a split at Truman State winning game one 3-1 and falling in game two 4-2.
Freshman C Madison Hecker leads Drury at the plate hitting .375 with two home runs and 14 runs batted in. The Lee's Summit native has a five-game hitting streak and is batting .470 having gone 8 for 17 at the plate in her last five games.
The game kicks off a 10-game home-stand for the Panthers who will take on Missouri Western State in a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
