JOPLIN, Mo. - The Panthers fell twice to conclude action at the TMZ Missouri Southern Tournament on Sunday in Joplin, Missouri. Drury dropped both games by 6-1 scores to Northeastern State and host Missouri Southern.

Drury lost their first game on Sunday when Northeastern State scored twice in the first inning and later tacked on runs in each of the last four innings. Drury scored their lone run in the bottom of the third on a Jacy Ummel triple that scored
Abbey LeJong.
The RiverHawks out-hit the Panthers 14-6, but stranded 12 runners in their win. Â

Missouri Southern scored a pair of runs in the opening inning, added a run in the third, and sealed the game with three runs in the fifth. The Lions outhit the Panthers by a 10-6 tally and were led by Erika Lutgen and Emilee Meyer who each had three hits.
Ummel went 3 for 4 and scored a run with a double to lead the Panthers.

The losses dropped Drury's record to 3-7 while Northeastern State went to 6-8 and Missouri Southern improved to 8-11.

Drury will open GLVC play on March 9 when they travel to Indianapolis for a 2 p.m. doubleheader.   Â
