JOPLIN, Mo.- The Panthers were edged twice in their first two games of the TMZ Missouri Southern Tournament on Saturday in Joplin, Missouri. Drury fell by a run to Nebraska-Kearney 4-3 and Northwest Missouri State 2-1.

Drury lost their first game on Saturday when Nebraska-Kearney scored twice in the fifth inning to come from a run down to win 4-3. The Panthers out-hit the Lopers 10-6 but stranded 10 runners in the loss.
Emily Stringer went 3 for 4 for Drury with a run scored while Hailly Greenough went 2 for 4 with a solo home run.

Northwest Missouri State also came from a run down to defeat Drury as the Bearcats took a 2-1 win. Bearcats catcher Abiga Gilson smacked a two-run home run in the fifth inning to give Northwest Missouri State the win.

Madison Hecker and
Kelley Conway both had two hits in the game for the Panthers.

The losses dropped Drury's record to 3-5 while Nebraska-Kearney went to 4-10 and Northwest Missouri State evened their record to 5-5.

The Panthers play two more games in the tournament on Sunday as they take on Northeastern State at 10 a.m. and Missouri Southern State at noon.
