ROLLA, Mo.- Drury swept Missouri S&T in a doubleheader on Monday in Rolla winning game one 13-6 and taking game two 12-9. The sweep gave Drury three wins in the four-game series against the Miners, and the Panthers have now won 12 of their last 13 games.

Drury improved to 22-16 and 13-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Missouri S&T dropped to 16-18 and 7-9 in the league.

Drury blew open a 4-3 lead by scoring nine runs in final two innings for a 13-6 win in game one. The Panthers took advantage of three errors by Missouri S&T in the first two innings as they jumped out to a 4-0 advantage. The Miners pulled within a run of the lead after a two-run fourth inning before Drury pulled away late.

Bayler Hinz went 3 for 5 for Drury with two runs batted in while
Ethan Owens went 2 for 4, scored three runs and belted a three-run home run in the seventh inning.
Brant Schaffitzel crossed home plate four times as he drew three walks while going 1 for 1 at the plate.

In game two, the Panthers trailed 4-0 after three innings but erupted for seven runs in the fourth to take the lead. K.K. Daniel got Drury on the board with a three-run home run in the inning, then Hinz tied the game with an RBI-single.
Caleb Essick's triple drove in a pair of runs to give the Panthers the lead and Schaffitzel capped Drury's scoring in the inning as he drove in a run with a ground ball.

The Panthers added three more runs in the fifth and two in the eighth. They held off Missouri S&T as the Miners scored two in the eighth and had the tying run on base in the ninth. S&T loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the ninth trailing 12-9 but Drury closer Nick Constantino recorded back-to-back strikeouts to end the game.

Daniel went 4 for 5 with two runs, five RBI's, a double and his third home run of the season. Hinz went 3 for 5 with three RBI's and a double to finish the day going 6 for 10 with five RBI's in Monday's doubleheader.

Drury returns to action on Saturday when they open a four-game series with a doubleheader at William Jewell. Game one begins at noon in Liberty, Missouri.
