DU softball moves Southern Indiana doubleheader to Friday, hosts Bellarmine on Sat.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– With the threat of rain on Sunday, Drury's softball doubleheader against Southern Indiana has been moved up to Friday at noon. Saturday's twin-bill against Bellarmine will stay as scheduled and will serve as Senior Day as Drury plays their final home weekend of the regular season at Thompson Field.

The Panthers are 14-22, 5-15 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and are tied for 13th in the league standings. Southern Indiana is 24-17, and are in fifth place in the conference with a 12-8 mark in the league. Bellarmine will enter the weekend 14-24 overall and 5-15 in the GLVC.

Drury is coming off a split of two games against the University of Missouri-St. Louis last weekend. The Panthers lost Saturday's game 9-1 in six innings but rebounded to shut out the Tritons 5-0 on Sunday.

Drury OF Jacy Ummel leads the team in hitting with a .351 average. The sophomore from Hutchinson, Kansas has an eight-game hitting streak is 14 for 27 (.519) during that span. On Sunday at UMSL, Ummel went 2 for 4 with a double, two RBI's and she hit her first home run of the season.
