SPRINGFIELD, Mo.- Drury swept Southern Indiana in a doubleheader on Friday at Thompson Field winning game one 2-1 and 4-3 in the second game.

The Panthers improved to 16-22 and 7-15 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Screaming Eagles dropped to 24-19 and 12-10 in the league.

Kasey Cazares (7-7) got the win in game one and, for the second straight game, did not allow an earned run. Cazares went all seven innings allowing just five hits, one unearned run and two walks with five strikeouts. The sophomore from Calexico, California pitched a four-hit shutout at the University of Missouri-St. Louis in her previous start.

After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the second inning, Drury responded with two runs in the bottom half of the frame. Madison Hecker scored from third base on a passed ball, then
Hannah Hearst drove in Dominque Salinas with a single to give the Panthers a 2-1 lead.

Salinas finished the game going 2 for 3 with a run scored.

In game two, Madison Hecker hit a two-out, bases-loaded single that drove in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh for a 4-3 Drury victory.

The Panthers trailed 3-1 after four innings but tied the game in the fifth. Drury got back-to-back RBI singles from Dominque Salinas and Megan Tersteeg to even the game at 3-3.

The Panthers took advantage of two USI errors in the seventh inning, and a walk by
Hannah Hearst loaded the bases to set up Hecker's game-winning hit.

Drury pitching held Southern Indiana to just two hits in the game but both were home runs by Mena Fulton, her second and third homers of the year.

Drury returns to action on Saturday when they host Bellarmine on Senior Day for a doubleheader that starts at noon at Thompson Field. The Panthers will honor their three graduating players before game one on Saturday afternoon.
