Panthers host Maryville in final home series of 2018

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– Drury and Maryville square off for a four-game series with the lead in the Great Lakes Valley Conference's West Division on the line. The Panthers are 24-18 and 15-5 in the GLVC. Drury is in first place in the division with a one-game lead over Maryville and Quincy. The Saints are 22-20 and 14-6 in the league.
 
This weekend will be the final home games of the regular season for Drury. The Panthers will hold Senior Day ceremonies before Sunday's game and honor their graduating players. Drury will host the GLVC Championship Tournament May 9-13 at U.S. Baseball Park.
 
The Panthers have gone 14-3 since March 30 while Maryville has won 9 of their last 11.
 
Drury split their four-game series at William Jewell last weekend winning the first two games 4-0 and 11-0, then losing the next two games, both in the Cardinals the last at-bat, 4-3 in 9 innings and 1-0.
 
Austin Simms enters his start having won his last two starts. He fired eight shutout innings at William Jewell last week allowing four hits and three walks with eight strikeouts. His 58 strikeouts rank seventh best in the GLVC. He is 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA in his last three starts.
 
Tom Tewes fired a four-hit shutout in his last start. He went seven innings at William Jewell last Saturday and walked two with three strikeouts. He is 2-1 with 1.65 ERA in his last three outings.
 
Avery Jennings is coming off of a no-decision last weekend at William Jewell. He went 5.2 innings giving up five hits, three runs and no walks with two strikeouts in a 4-3, 9-inning loss. Jennings is 1-1 with a 4.59 ERA in his last three starts.
 
Colby Childs will start on Sunday after going five innings at William Jewell allowing four hits, no runs, one walk with one strikeout in a 1-0 loss. He is 0-0 with a 4.21 ERA in his last three starts.
 
Brandt Ollinger enters the series with a four-game hitting streak. He went 3 for 6 at the plate in last Sunday's two games and is 5 for his last 12 at the plate through four games.
