SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Drury Panthers opened GLVC play with a 3-0 shutout win Friday over William Jewell as they defeated the Cardinals by scores of (25-15, 25-19, 26-24).
The Panthers improved their record to 7-2, and dropped William Jewell to 2-7 overall and 0-1 in the GLVC.
Drury hit a match high .294 to claim the opening set, then held the Cardinals to under .200 in the final two sets the clinch the sweep.
Emmalee Chrest led Drury with 13 kills and Bentley Mara added 12. Kendra Sater added 36 assists while Bree Schmidt provided 15 digs.
Drury will continue Great Lakes Valley Conference action on Saturday when they host eighth-ranked Rockhurst. Game time is 3 p.m. in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
