Lindenwood pulls away from Panthers

ST. CHARLES, Mo.– Morgan Weller scored two goals and had an assist for Lindenwood as the Lions shutout Drury 4-0 on Friday at Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Missouri.
 
Lindenwood improved to 1-1-1 while the Panthers dropped to 0-2-1.
 
Weller scored her first goal of the game six and half minutes into the contest and added her second goal early in the second half to give the Lions a 2-0 lead. She picked up an assist on Lindenwood's next goal as Katie Richter found the net in the 67th minute. Richter ended the game with a goal and an assist for the Lions.
 
Drury goalkeeper Sarah Franks was issued a red card in the 50th minute and exited the game with Drury trailing just 1-0. Lindenwood followed with three goals as the Panthers played a man down.
 
Lindenwood put up 21 shots with 10 coming on goal. Drury had four shots with two coming from senior Gabbe Millot.
 
The Panthers stay in St. Charles to play Emporia State on Sunday. Game time is 1:30 p.m. at Hunter Stadium.
