Wisconsin-Parkside wins at Drury 4-1

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.–  Wisconsin-Parkside scored twice in the first half and held off the Drury Panthers for a 4-1 win at Harrison Stadium / Curry Sports Complex on Sunday.
 
The Rangers evened their record to 2-2 while Drury dropped to 0-3-1.
 
Wisconsin-Parkside got on the board in the seventh minute when Petar Krecak got away from Panther defenders on the left side of the net and fired home a shot for his first goal of the season. Max Ludwig made the score 2-0 when he found space just seven yards out and connected for his first goal of the year.
 
After three shots in the first half, Drury put more pressure on the Rangers with six shots in the second half but fell behind 3-0 when Evan Garcia scored on an assist from Joe Elwell in the 80th minute.
 
The Panthers got on the board in the 83rd minute when Francesco Ferri tucked a shot inside the right post on a free kick to give the sophomore from Italy his first goal of the season.
 
The Rangers tacked on another score five minutes later when Leki Prpa converted a penalty kick.
 
Wisconsin-Parkside had the advantage in shots 12-9.
 
Drury opens conference play for their next game. The Panthers travel to Southern Indiana for a 1 p.m. game on Friday in Evansville, Indiana.
