Panthers host William Jewell at Weiser Gym
The Drury Panthers shift their home court to historic Weiser Gym on Thursday as they host William Jewell at 7 pm in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match. Drury moves to their original home court as preparations continue at the O'Reilly Family Event Center for the annual Athletics Auction on Saturday night.
 
The Panthers have won six straight games and are 11-7 with a 5-0 record in the league. Drury is one of three teams in the GLVC off to 5-0 starts in the conference joining Lewis and Rockhurst at the top of the league standings. William Jewell is 6-11 and 2-3 in the conference. The Cardinals are coming off of a 3-1 (21-25, 25-19, 25-16, 25-23) loss at 12th ranked Rockhurst on Tuesday.
 
Drury has won 25 of their 28 meetings against William Jewell all-time and swept the season series against the Cardinals last year winning 3-0 on Sept. 6 and Oct. 30 with both games played at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
 
Freshman Julia McCown leads Drury in kills averaging 3.47 per set, and the Ozark, Missouri native ranks sixth in the league in that category. William Jewell's Elizabeth Quinn is the conference's leader in blocks per set, averaging 1.48.
 
Following Thursday's game, the Panthers are back at Weiser Gym to host 12th ranked Rockhurst on Saturday at 3 pm.
