AUSTIN, Tex.- Drury rallied from a 5-0 deficit only to see St. Edward's score two runs in the bottom of the ninth in an 8-7 loss to the Hilltoppers on Sunday in Austin, Texas.

The Panthers fell to 2-4 while St. Edward's raised their record to 7-2 and took three of four from Drury in the weekend series.

St. Edward's owned a 5-0 lead after four innings, but the Panthers countered with a run in the fifth, and three more in the sixth. Drury took a 7-5 lead scoring three more times in the seventh as
Nikko Calabro tied the game with an RBI single to left field, then
Caleb Essick gave Drury their first lead of the day driving in a pair of runs with a bases-loaded single.

The Hilltoppers took the game back, though, in the bottom of the ninth. Back-to-back walks started the frame and set up Robbie Lammons' double that drove in both runners to win the game.

Caleb Essick went 2 for 2 with a double, two walks and three RBI's.

Brandon Pettinatti (1-0) got the win in relief for the Hilltoppers while
Collin Fraley (0-1) took the loss for Drury.

The Panthers will play their home opener on Friday when they host Lewis at 4 p.m. to start a four-game, non-conference series at U.S. Baseball Park in Ozark.
