OZARK – Lewis used 16 hits in route to a 14-10 non-conference victory over the Drury baseball Panthers on Sunday at US Baseball Park in Ozark.
The Panthers move to 5-5 and Lewis improved to 4-3.
Lewis jumped out to a 5-1 lead after two innings with Drury cutting the lead to 5-2 on RBIs from
Bayler Hinz and
Collin Fraley. The Flyers and Panthers combined for 14 runs in the fifth and sixth innings to make it a 13-8 Lewis lead after six. Lewis added a run in the eighth and Drury tacked on a pair in the final frame on RBI hits by
Kaden Helsel and
Brant Schaffitzel (2B).
Colby Childs (1-2) go the loss for Drury and allowed four earned runs in two innings.
Ethan Owens went 2-for-4 and scored a run for the Panthers who finished with 12 hits and left nine runners on base. The Flyers Brandon Post went 4-for-5 and drove home three runs.
The Panthers will host Augustana in a noon doubleheader on Saturday, March 2 at U.S. Baseball Park in Ozark.
