SPRINGFIELD, Mo.- The Drury Panthers extended their winning streak to six games with a doubleheader sweep of Southwest Baptist at Thompson Field on Friday. Drury won game one 9-4 and followed with a 4-2 win in game two.

The Panthers improved to 11-4 while the Bearcats fell to 1-14.

Drury trailed 3-0 after two innings in game one but rallied with a run in the third, then turned the game around with five runs in the fourth.
Jacy Ummel went 3 for 3 with a triple, four runs batted in, a triple and a walk.
Kaelie Smith and
Megan Holmes both had two hits while
Ally Sinclair scored three times.

Daisy Dudek (5-1) got the win in relief going 5.2 innings allowing four hits and one run with no walks and four strikeouts.

In game two, the Panthers built a 3-0 lead in the second inning and held off Southwest Baptist to earn the sweep.
Devin Hale went 2 for 3 at the plate for Drury with three RBI's, and she belted her first home run of the season. Holmes went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI.

Drury's scheduled doubleheader tomorrow against Fort Hays State has been postponed by cold temperatures and the threat of winter weather. The twin-bill is expected to be made up later this season. The Panthers next scheduled contest is on March 9 when they play Hillsdale at 1:30 pm in Claremont, Florida.Â
