OZARK, Mo.- The Drury Panthers made the most of their scoring opportunities on Saturday and knocked off second-ranked Augustana (SD) 7-2 at US Baseball in Ozark.

The Panthers raised their record to 6-7 while the Vikings, the defending NCAA-II national champions, fell to 3-2.

Drury jumped in front 4-0 in the first inning and scored in their second at-bat of the game. After
Brant Schaffitzel drew a walk to lead off the frame,
Ethan Owens followed with a triple to put the Panthers up 1-0. Drury would score again on a bases-loaded walk and a wild pitch, then tacked on another run on
Kaden Helsel's RBI-single.

Tom Tewes (3-1) got the win for Drury going eight innings allowing four hits and one run with four walks and six strikeouts.

Clayton Engel belted a home run in the third and ended the game going 1 for 2 with two runs scored and three runs batted in.

Augustana pitching walked nine Drury hitters, and the Panthers took advantage stranding only five runners.Â

Drury is scheduled to play at Central Missouri on Tuesday with a 4 pm game in Warrensburg.
