KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The Drury Panthers split a pair of one-run games at Rockhurst on Friday falling in game one 3-2 and hanging on for a 3-2 win in the second game.

Drury ended the day 19-8 and 2-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference while the Hawks went to 15-10 and 4-2 in the league.

In game one, Rockhurst broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the third when Calli Wibbenmeyer's infield single drove in two runs. Drury pulled within a run in the sixth on
Kinzy Mathis' RBI single, but the Panthers could not draw even as Hawks starter Shannon Greene (12-4) went all seven innings holding Drury to two runs on four hits.

Kasey Cazares (4-2) took the loss for the Panthers going six innings allowing seven hits and three runs with three walks and six strikeouts.

Drury built a 3-0 lead in game two and fought off a Rockhurst rally in the seventh to earn a split of the doubleheader. The Panthers scored a run in the third, then two in the fourth inning as
Madoline Seumalo belted an RBI triple, and an error a shortstop allowed
Megan Tersteeg to cross the plate.

Rockhurst threatened Drury's lead in the bottom of the seventh as they scored twice and had runners on at first and third with two outs, but Cazares, working in relief, struck out Wibbenmeyer to end the game.

Hailly Greenough (3-2) got the win as she went 6.2 innings and allowed five hits, two runs, and five walks with one strikeout. Cazares got the final out of the game for her second save of the year.

Serenity Healy went 2 for 4 at the plate with a double in game two for Drury.Â

Friday's games were originally scheduled for Sunday but moved up due to the threat of inclement weather during the weekend. The Panthers take on William Jewell on Saturday for a noon doubleheader in Liberty, Missouri.
