Panthers home on Sunday and Monday in GLVC play

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– Drury softball plays their first home games in the Great Lakes Valley Conference this weekend as the Panthers host Lewis and Indianapolis in doubleheaders. The threat of inclement weather as adjusted the schedule and Drury will host Lewis at noon on Sunday and UIndy on Monday at noon at Thompson Field in Springfield.
 
The Panthers have already won more games this season than in their previous three years as they enter Sunday's games with a 21-8 record and a 4-2 mark in the GLVC. Last year Drury won 20 games going 20-24, they won 19 games in 2017 and they were victorious 18 times in the 2016 season.
 
Each of Drury's six conference games have been on the road as they have split doubleheaders at Missouri S&T and Rockhurst and they are coming off of a doubleheader sweep at William Jewell.
 
The Panthers are tied for second place in the league standings heading into the weekend.
 
Lewis comes into Sunday's game 11-15 and 4-4 in the league while Indianapolis is ranked 20th in the latest NCAA-II coaches' poll and is 24-8 with a 5-3 mark in the GLVC.
 
Diamond Notes
--Devin Hale is coming off of a 7-for-8 day at the plate in last Sunday's doubleheader at William Jewell. Hale scored three runs, had 3 RBI's, and stole three bases in the doubleheader against the Cardinals.
--Serenity Healy has an 11-game hitting streak that started on March 10 against Ferris State. She is hitting .429 during the streak going 15 for 35 with seven RBI's and six runs scored.
--The Panthers have won six games in their last at-bat and are 6-0 in that category.
--Drury has also won six games by run-rule this season and have not been run-ruled themselves yet this year.
