SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– The Drury Panthers end the regular season this weekend as they host Maryville in a doubleheader on Saturday, then the University of Missouri-St. Louis in a Sunday doubleheader. Both days have a 2 pm start for game one at Thompson Field.
Drury will honor their four graduating players after Saturday's doubleheader against the Saints as part of their Senior Day celebration.
The Panthers head into the weekend 34-17 and 12-10 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Drury is tied for sixth in the league standings with Illinois Springfield and needs one win in their final four games to clinch their first GLVC tournament appearance since 2012. They are also two wins away from matching the most wins the program has had in its 12-year history when the Panthers went 36-19 in the 2012 season.
Maryville enters Saturday's games in fourth place in the conference standings with a 14-8 league record to go with a 29-16 mark overall. The Saints are coming off of doubleheader sweeps over Rockhurst and William Jewell last weekend.
UMSL has won six straight going into the weekend and is 27-17 with a 16-6 record in the GLVC. The Tritons are sitting in third place in the conference standings and enter the final weekend of the regular season trailing league-leading Indianapolis and Southern Indiana by just one game.
The top eight teams in the GLVC will advance to the conference tournament May 2-4 in East Peoria, Illinois.
