ANGOLA, Ind.- The Drury triathlon team won the Trine University Triple Sprint Invitational in Angola, Indiana last weekend. The Panthers finished first in the eight-team field and had their triathletes finish second, third and fifth to finish with 10 points. North Central came in second with 27 points while Daeman was third with 42.
Jayme Sue Vermaas led Drury and finished second among 50 competitors as the freshman from South Africa completed the event in 1:22:39 and was 64 seconds off of the winning pace. Right behind Vermaas was
Becca Rivers. The freshman from Elgin, Texas, crossed the line in 1:23:43.
Nina Spitzhorn rounded out the Panthers scorers, and the sophomore from Germany posted a time fo 1:24:45.
Kathryn Badham from the University of San Francisco won individual medalist honors with a time of 1:21:35.

Hadley Jason (16th, 1:31:52),
Olivia Hall (18th, 1:32:29),
Melanie Abbott (20th, 1:32:58) and
Hannah Polinske (27th, 1:37:46).
The Panthers compete again on Sunday in the University of South Dakota Invitational in Yankton, South Dakota.
