BETHANY, Okla.- Drury won both of their matches on Friday in Bethany, Oklahoma in the first day of competition of the Southern Nazarene/Oklahoma Baptist Invitational. Drury swept Southern Nazarene 3-0, then defeated Northwestern Oklahoma State 3-1 to improve to 5-6 on the season.

Drury won the opening game of their road trip into Oklahoma defeating host Southern Nazarene in three sets. The Panthers pulled away in the opening set winning five of the last six points to win 25-19. Drury then rolled to 25-18 wins in the next two sets.

Reba Thomsen, a junior from Burlington, Wisconsin, led the Panthers with 46 assists, 11 digs, and 1.5 blocks. Three Drury players reached double-figures in kills as
Regan Dennis had 14,
Julia McCown added 13 and
Makina Wratten had 12. The Panthers completed the match with a .358 hitting percentage.

Drury finished the day with a four-set win over Northwestern Oklahoma State. After falling in the first set 25-22, the Panthers cruised to a 25-14 win in the second and won the next two sets 25-17.

Thomsen registered 55 assists against the Rangers and added two service aces. Drury's attack was balanced again as
Makina Wratten posted 19 kills while
Julia McCown had 18.
Paige Perry was credited with 20 digs while
Hannah Zuege had 18.

Drury ended the day with a 5-6 record while Southern Nazarene dropped to 7-3 and Northwestern Oklahoma State went to 7-5.

Day two of the SNU/OBU tournament shifts to Shawnee, Oklahoma for Drury on Saturday as the Panthers take on Oklahoma Baptist at 9 a.m. followed by a 2 p.m. match against East Central.
