Panthers continue homestand Friday and Sunday
Drury continues their homestand this weekend as the Panthers host William Jewell on Friday at 7:30 pm and Rockhurst on Sunday at 2:30 pm at Harrison Stadium/Curry Sports Complex.
 
The Panthers are 4-2 and 2-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Drury is coming off of a 4-3 win at home over Missouri S&T on Sunday and enters the weekend tied for fourth place in the league standings.
 
William Jewell is 0-5, 0-3 in the GLVC and fell at home to Truman State 2-1 on Sunday in their last game. Eddie Horn is in his first year coaching the Cardinals after a two-year stint as an assistant with Missouri-Kansas City and a 26-year career as head coach at Jefferson City Public High School.
 
Rockhurst is 1-3-1 and 1-2 in the league. The Hawks lost to Quincy 1-0 in Kansas City on Sunday and will be at Southwest Baptist on Friday before coming to Springfield. Tony Tocco is in his 49th year as head coach at Rockhurst, and his 705 career wins rank second in all of intercollegiate soccer. He is a member of the NAIA Hall of Fame, and his Hawks have won five NCAA-II regional titles and advanced to the national semifinals four times.
 
Drury is 9-1 all-time against William Jewell and beat the Cardinals 3-0 last year. The Panthers are 5-19-1 in their all-time series against Rockhurst and were edged 1-0 in last year's game in Kansas City.
 
Jamie O'Brien leads the Panthers and enters the weekend tied for the league lead in goals scored with four, and his 22 shots are the second-most in the conference.
 
After this weekend, the Panthers continue their string of home games as they host Southern Indiana next Friday for a 7:30 pm match at Harrison Stadium/Curry Sports Complex.
