SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– The Drury Panthers improved to 5-2 and 3-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with a 4-1 win over William Jewell on Friday night at Harrison Stadium in Springfield.

The Panthers got on the board in the game's ninth minute. Adem Hamdaoua had a free-kick and launched a ball to the right of the net where Joao Coehlo headed it to Jeremy Coen for his first goal of the year. Drury scored nine minutes later as Trevor Cairns scored his first of the season, and Hamdaoua picked up his second assist of the night to give DU a 2-0 lead.

William Jewell got back in the game moments later on a goal by Alex Thiessen that put the Cardinals within one in the 27th minute.

Drury took a 3-1 lead into halftime, though, as Jamie O'Brien scored on a penalty kick for his fifth goal of the season with 11 minutes left in the first half. Joao Coehlo added another goal for the Panthers in the second half to give Drury a three-goal advantage.
