SEARCY, Ark.- Drury split their first two games of the Harding Classic on Saturday with a 10-2 win over Midwestern State in five innings, followed by an 8-4 loss to Northeastern State.

The Panthers ended the day with a 2-3 record while Midwestern State fell to 0-6, and Northeastern State went to 2-1.

The Panthers scored at least one run in all five innings in their 10-2 victory over Midwestern State to start the tournament.
Abby Tiemann went 3 for 4 with three runs scored while
Jacy Ummel,
Kinzy Mathis, and
Grace King all drove in two runs each for Drury.
Kasey Cazares (2-1) struck out five batters in five innings to get the win.

Drury rallied from four runs down to tie Northeastern State 4-4 midway through their second game of the day, but the RiverHawks broke the tie with a four-run fourth inning and handed the Panthers an 8-4 loss.

Drury scored all four of their runs in the fourth inning. Abby McAteer got the Panthers on the board with her first home run of the year.
Serenity Healy pulled Drury within one with a double that drove in two runs; then,
Madison Hecker tied the game with an RBI-single.

Northeastern State took control of the game in the bottom of half of the inning, however, as they took advantage of a Panthers error that allowed two unearned runs.

Healy finished the game going 2 for 4 with two runs batted in.

Drury continues play in the tournament tomorrow with an 11 am against Delta State, then a 1 pm first pitch against host Harding.
