SEARCY, Ark.- The Drury Panthers won twice on Sunday with a 4-0 victory over Delta State and a 2-1 win against Harding to take three of their four games in the Harding Classic in Searcy, Arkansas.

Kasey Cazares (3-1) fired a two-hit shutout against Delta State in Drury's first game of the day. The senior from Caliexco, California, allowed only two hits and four walks while striking out eight in the complete-game win.

Grace King gave the Panthers an early lead with a two-RBI double in the first inning. Drury added a run an inning later on
Madoline Seumalo's RBI-double, and
Kinzy Mathis drove in a run in the fourth with a ground ball.
Jacy Ummel went 2 for 4 at the plate with a double and two runs scored.

The loss dropped Delta State to 3-3.

Haylee Van Deventer (1-0) held host Harding to just one run while allowing six hits and two walks for the win in the Panthers' second game of the afternoon.

Drury scored in the opening frame as
Abby Tiemann reached base on an error, then was driven home by
Jacy Ummel's double.

After Harding tied the game in the third, Drury took the lead in the fifth inning. With two outs and the bases empty, Tiemann drew a walk on a 3-2 pitch, followed by a single from Ummel, then another walk to
Abbey McAteer loaded the bases. A wild pitch then brought Tiemann across the plate for the go-ahead run.

Ummel went 2 for 3 in the game and finished the day going a combined 4 for 7 at the plate.

The Panthers ended the day with a 4-3 record while Harding also went to 4-3.

Drury returns to action when they head to the Mississippi College tournament for four games on Feb. 15-16.
