SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– Drury battled from behind to forge a 2-2 tie in double-overtime against Quincy on Friday at Harrison Stadium in Springfield.
The draw moved Drury's record to 7-5-4 and 7-2-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Quincy went to 6-6-3 and 4-5-3 in the league.
The Hawks scored the game's first goal as Jack Rhead put in his eighth of the year in the 35
th minute. Drury answered back 45 seconds later as
Jayd Hamdaoua tied the game with his second goal of the season and got an assist from
Joshua Lewis-Evans.
Quincy took the lead back in the second half as Cole Hayes gave the Hawks a 2-1 advantage in the 66
th minute, but Drury responded again. Lewis-Evans evened the game in the 72
nd minute with his third score of the season and Sabastian Smeed picked up the assist.
Both teams had one shot on goal during the overtime periods.
The Panthers end the regular season with Senior Day on Sunday afternoon when they host Illinois Springfield at 2:30 pm at Harrison Stadium.
