Panthers and Miners battle to a draw

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– Drury and Missouri S&T entered Sunday's game deadlocked in the Great Lakes Valley Conference standings, and the two teams will stay that way after the two teams battled to a scoreless draw at Harrison Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Panthers moved their record to 4-4-1 and 4-1-1 in the GLVC, while the Miners went to 5-2-1 and 4-1-1 in the league.

Both teams were credited with 13 shots, and both squads nearly broke through after regulation. In the first overtime, Drury's Jamie O'Brien broke through Missouri S&T's defense for a shot that just missed. The Miners mounted a flurry in the final minute of the second overtime, getting a pair of shots from less than 15 yards away that were both blocked by Panther defenders.

Yannick Lamers had three saves for Drury while Davis Joseph stopped three shots for Missouri S&T. Adem Hamdaougha led Drury with three shots while Jason Jorgenson had three for the Miners.

The Panthers play again on Friday, Oct. 8, when they travel to Missouri-St. Louis for a 7:30 pm match.
