SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The Drury University softball program announced its 2022 schedule, and the program will launch its season Feb. 4-6 in the Gulf Shores D2 Showcase in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Match-ups and the tournament schedule have not been determined yet for the three-day event.
Drury will play four games Feb. 11-12 in the Alvy Early Tournament in Bentonville, Arkansas, then host their first home games with a pair of tournaments. The Drury Invitational Feb. 25-26 will serve as the Panthers home opener at Thompson Field, and the Drury Classic follows the next weekend, March 4-6.
The Great Lakes Valley Conference schedule begins for the Panthers on March 11 with a doubleheader at Rockhurst. Teams in the GLVC will play a 28-game league schedule this year with doubleheaders against each team in the conference. The top eight teams in the GLVC will advance to the league championship tournament May 5-8 in East Peoria, Illinois.
The NCAA-II Tournament starts on May 12 and concludes with the eight regional winners advancing to Denver, Colorado, for a double-elimination national championship May 24-28.
Drury head coach
Jerry Breaux will enter his fifth season as the program's head coach. His squad returns 13 letter winners from last year's team that went 26-16, 19-9 in the GLVC, and finished third in the conference standings.
